The only way we get better at doing something is to practice. It is important that children have a regular time to read over the summer. Here is a list of books that your child may be interested in reading. If they find a particular genre or author they like, check with your local library to get further book recommendations!
Here are some suggestions:
"Stuart Little" - E.B. White "Charlotte's Web" - E.B. White "Jumanji" - Chris Van Allsburg "A Wrinkle in Time" - Madelieine L'Engle "The Homework Machine" - Dan Gutman "The B.F.G." - Roald Dahl "Inkheart" - Cornelia Funke "The Tale of Despereaux" - Kate DiCamillo "Holes" - Louis Sachar "Where the Red Fern Grows" - Wilson Rawls "Shiloh" - Phyllis Reynolds Naylor "Hatchet" - Gary Paulsen "The Giver" - Lois Lowry
