Language Arts/ Math/ Unit The skils we will be working on the Third twelve weeeks are:
LANGUAGE ARTS Initial/ middle/ ending sounds and phoneme blending Syllable counting Phoneme segmentation & Phoneme substitutionRhyming, punctuation Main Idea, Detailing & Making predictions
Writing - Establishes a relationship between picture & print Writes a simple sentence & adds details to drawings Writes in the way one would speak Reads own writing Writes left to right, top to bottom,and uses space between words Spells name and familiar words Spells some words with beginning, middle, and ending sounds Writes upper/ lower case letters

Math: Reads & writes Numbers 0-100 Rote count 1-50 Identifies & creates sets to show greater than/less than, and equal to Solves story problems with addition & subtraction Fluently adds up to 5 Fluently subtracts from 5 Shows a knowledge of place valuethrough drawings and/or equations

Read Read Read Please read to your child every night. Please make sure your child points to the word as he/she reads the word. Ask your child the following questins: 1. Who is the character/ characters in the story? 2. Where is the setting? Where does the story take place? 3. What happens in the beginning of the story? middle? ending? 4. Why do you think the author wrote this story? What is the author's purpose? (Usually it is to teach a lesson) 5. What did this story remind you of? Do you have a connection? (Let them tell you what they thought of while reading the story)

Friday, March 16: Quarter sale (funds will go to Relay for Life) send quarters with your child so they can purchas items!
