Please read to your child every night. Please make sure your child points to the word as he/she reads the word.
Ask your child the following questins:
1. Who is the character/ characters in the story?
2. Where is the setting? Where does the story take place?
3. What happens in the beginning of the story? middle? ending?
4. Why do you think the author wrote this story? What is the author's purpose? (Usually it is to teach a lesson)
5. What did this story remind you of? Do you have a connection? (Let them tell you what they thought of while reading the story)
