Welcome to Mrs. Turney's 3rd grade class.
Third Grade Homework Process

Students are given homework in Reading, Math and/or Spelling each night on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We encourage students to read nightly for 30 minutes as part of their homework.
They are responsible for writing down their assignments in their planner each day and return their work to their teacher the following day.
They will bring their planner home Monday thru Thursday with a daily grade for conduct. Parents are asked to sign their planner each night as part of the students homework. By checking the students conduct each night we are able to prevent small problems from growing. The planner is an open line of communication between parents and teachers.

The North Carolina Standard Course of Study provides every content area a set of competencies for each grade and high school course. Its intent is to ensure rigorous student academic performance standards that are uniform across the state. It is based on a philosophy of teaching and learning that is consistent with current research, exemplary practices, and national standards. Please review the standards your child is required to master. This will help you to better prepare your student for the rigorous academic curriculum they are expected to master.
