School counseling programs contribute to the broad educational goals of assisting students in becoming fully functioning, productive, contributing members of society. The counselor helps students with their personal, social and educational development. As a part of the counseling profession, school counselors help students, parents, and teachers become more "able" as learners, advocates, and educators.
The Counseling Center offers the following services: * Individual and Group Counseling * Consulting with students, parents, teachers, administrators, service workers, and community resources. * Coordinating the total school guidance and counseling program. * Combining efforts with those of the teacher in assisting all students with their individual progress at school. |

| Roger Bell Elementary has qualified as a Title 1 School-wide school since the fall of 1996. Because of this we are able to provide services to all students, not just a targeted group. Our plan is comprehensive and was developed with the help of parents and staff members. This year we will be serving students with academic needs throuth our Title I Support Staff. This team of teachers will provide a combination of in-class, small group, and, computer lab support. Other components of our program include kindergarten orientation, tutor program, and parenting events. A parent council meets about four times a year for input and the planning of activities. If you have any questions or are interested in helping, please contact any of our Title I staff members. |
